#94511 Can't delete [Unknown] [Unknown] person

Posted by LarryD on 19 July 2019 - 05:36 AM in Issues

Brian, I had the same issue and had to recreate the database using drag and drop. Here is the original thread:

The drag n drop worked.

Thanks everyone!

What does the drag n drop do with regard to the linked tree at Ancestry.com?

#94205 Persons named 'unknown' in the index list

Are they linked to anyone in TreeShare?  If not then if that is all there is in the RM database you can delete them.

Renee,

They are not linked that I can tell. When I try to delete them, nothing happens.

#94201 Persons named 'unknown' in the index list

It depends on where the issues is coming from. If the person doesn't have a name it will still show [unknown] [unknown]. That is the first thing to identify.

Renee,

There are 4 instances, all showing [unknown] [unknown], followed by a number with no other information. I suspect they are related to TreeShare, but have no proof of that.

#94189 Persons named 'unknown' in the index list

I've seen [unknown] [unknown] on TreeShare when there is no name for the person there. I'm not sure if they are sent to RM with those names. I'm not sure why you can't delete them either. Would be best to open a support ticket with a backup of the database so we can look at it.

I now have 4 of them. Was there ever a resolution found for this?

Thanks

#92620 Version Confusion

Posted by LarryD on 23 January 2019 - 07:05 AM in RootsMagic for Mac

Slightly longer answer - 7.5.9 is the version of RM itself and 7.0.3 is the version of the container that allows it to run on the Mac.
