Fixed it! When I had last used RM, I must have left the window very low on the screen. The 'news' window popped up, but I couldn't see it to dismiss it -- maybe that is what caused the apparent crash.

I dragged the app to the trash, emptied the trash, downloaded and installed.
When I open RM now, it seems to open a full screen the way that I use it, and then quickly takes the window to the bottom of the screeen so I can only see a couple inches of it, and then is totally frozen.

RootsMagic 7 on MacBook Pro
When I click to open RootsMagic, it seems to open to my root person, but I can't click on any menus -- totally frozen. The rest of the computer is still functional.
When I go to the database and click on it, the computer says it doesn't see a program to open it. I click to find the app to open it, and RootsMagic is greyed out.
What do I do?
