Managing data on PC and Laptop

19 November 2009 - 09:55 AM

I keep all my genealogy on my PC but have a laptop I use when I travel. Is there a way for me to see or find the new data that I've entered on my laptop so that I can transfer it to my PC when I get home?

I've been emailing the gedcoms back and forth to myself but I lose all the photos, so that's a hassle. Plus, and I'm embarassed to admit, I've got such a mess now because I didn't delete the old gedcoms or .rmg files and now I have so many, it's just a huge mess and I'm just paralyzed by it all. I've tried merging but ended up with an even bigger mess. (Is there a way to see the notes when deciding which "person" to keep when the merge questions come up?).

I'm drowning here and would be really grateful for some advice. I'm using Windows XP and RootsMagic 3.2.6.

My son is home for another week so I thought I'd ask now while I've got him here to help me it.

Thanks for any help.

Jo
