Hand-Held Genealogy
26 February 2007 - 10:47 AM
I will be traveling to Europe this fall and expect to collect genealogy info. Would like to take a program (for a hand-held device) which would allow data input. Those I've found through googling don't seem to. Has anyone had experience with this?
Have not purchased the device, yet, so any information is welcome. I would need to be able to produce a gedcom to add to my desktop computer when I get home.
Many thanks!

Importing genealogy data
02 December 2006 - 03:31 PM
I just got the CD, and in order to experiment with it, I imported a small gedcom file. Now I want to import all of my data and I keep getting a message that says, basically, you already did this--too bad.
How do I get rid of the data I've imported (if necessary) and import my entire file? Do I have to reinstall Family Atlas?

HTML to Website
13 August 2006 - 07:10 PM
In the gedcoms I mount on RootsWeb or Ancestry.com, I would like to include a line for certain people that says "His/Her burial is recorded at FindaGrave.com" giving a link for the findagrave site. I know this can be done in some programs--I've seen it done, but the person doing it was writing the code manually for each entry. I'd like to automate it a little.
I have set up a fact where the definition provides the HTML code and the description is the variable (number identyfing "grave site") to be inserted, ie
<HisHer> burial is recorded at <a href="http://www.findagrav...aGrave.com</a>.
This produces:
Event: 11308073 FindaGrave on the site instead of the complete sentence
Is RootsMagic stripping out the HTML coding? Does anyone have a suggestion to make this work?
Many thanks!
