Thanks for your help, which enabled me to complete cleaning up the existing Place names.
I've been doing genealogy for a very long time (since 1980, when my father passed away when I was a teenager and I began interviewing all of my grandparents, whom I was fortunate enough to know into my adulthood), when everything was recorded using paper forms. I worked with Matthew Helm on a graduate school project related to online genealogy in the mid-1990s, around the time he created Helm's Genealogy Toolbox. I began using Family Tree Maker in the late 1990s and continued to use it until a very few years ago. For about a decade, I used Gene Stark's ged2html to publish my genealogy on a web server which I ran and through which I made a lot of distant cousin connections. I've been using Ancestry.com for about a decade. I just started using RootsMagic a few weeks ago. I am very impressed by this program and all the features it has. For the money, this is the best genealogy program I have ever used for organizing and properly sourcing my records. I look forward to seeing what version 8 adds.
Expect a lot of questions from me over the coming months as I learn a program new to me. I love the way genealogists help each other out. Thanks again.
