adding a [note] field to sentence template

19 October 2017 - 06:24 PM

Could you please add a [note] field to the list of fact sentence fields? I would like to see how the note for a fact will print while viewing the customized sentence box for a fact in the timeline view.

Please Unlock RM Windows

12 October 2017 - 11:00 AM

When a new window pops up in RM, the underlying RM window cannot be moved. This is very frustrating when trying to compare information from another site with information on the new RM window. I never have this problem with other genealogy programs, where any of the windows can be moved. Please unlock the underlying window. Thanks.

Event filter for GEDCOM export

12 October 2017 - 10:48 AM

Gedcom files that are posted on sites which check for DNA matches only require birth/marriage/death information. Right now RM adds all events to a gedcom. I'd like to see a filter that allows the user to select which events to include in the gedcom export, or at the very least, an option to select BMD events only.

Treeshare and RootsMagic Fact Notes

22 August 2017 - 01:31 PM

Treeshare currently sends Notes associated with RootsMagic Facts to the "Other Sources" list on the Fact page of Ancestry.com. The reasoning for this posted by RM is: "RootsMagic allows you to add a note to each fact but Ancestry only allows a note for the person." But this is not true. There are two fields available for each Fact on the "Lifestory" page of Ancestry. The first field is labeled "Description" and indeed the "Description" field from a RM Fact is transferred to this field. The second field available on Ancestry is: "Write a short story about this event." I believe this is the appropriate place to transfer the contents of the "Notes" field associated with RM Facts.

Why isn't a Webhint icon available on the Timeline view?

30 June 2017 - 03:31 PM

I use the timeline view as my default display and would very much like to see a hint icon placed next to the individual in that view. Since Webhints does not display shared events, the only way to see if a non-primary individual is already linked to an event, is to view the timeline. But you can't have the timeline in the background when using Webhints, because you can't access Webhints from the Timeline display. An alternate would be to display shared facts on the RM Webhints window so you would know, for instance, not to add a census that is already shared.
