RM and German Privacy Laws

17 April 2016 - 02:46 PM

What is the best (or most common) way to implement the Germany Privacy laws using RM.  I have not found any way to 'mark' individuals as PRIVATE except by marking them as LIVING.   My understanding is that in germany it is illegal to publish data about any person whose birth < 110yrs; Marriage < 80yrs; Death < 30yrs assuming all affected persons like spouses or children are also deceased.

The method I have used is to use the 'Set Living' function marking persons using the data selection criteria above.  My goal is so that when the tree is exported or published that these rules are adhered to.  LIVING was the only way I know to do this currently.

Count Trees function...

30 March 2016 - 07:07 PM

When the Count Trees function is used, the Start person is shown as the entry with RIN =1 and not the Root Person.

I understand the difference but is there anyway to 'SWAP' the two RIN numbers so that the Count Trees shows the 'root' of the tree?

Nexu 7 2013 running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow RM not seeing files.

25 March 2016 - 10:59 AM

I have a Nexus 7 v2 (2013) running Android Marshmallow 6.01 and have installed  the RM app.   To test I used a small tree (5 people no media) on my desktop and backed the tree up to DropBox using RM 7.  I can look inside DropBox and see the file using both the desktop and the Nexus.  When I start the RM app on the Nexus I see the instruction screen and the got to Files and get the 'On Device','Dropbox','Help' menu.

I select 'Dropbox' ( I had already given permission during the ALLOW) .  All I see is the RootsMagic header at the top of the screen and the menu at the bottom (File,View,Lists,Tools,Info).  The center of the screen is blank with a dark gray background.  I can use the Dropbox app on the Nexus and see the tree in the Apps/RootsMagic folder.

Found my answer - was using the Backup function which the app does not use
