Source List display missing data, which is visible in source detail (Android)

30 September 2017 - 05:37 PM

Noticed an odd thing today.

When I go to Lists and select the Source tab, there is some information missing. It's primarily from the "Source Details" section of the source, and is a problem on multiple individuals.

What's odd is that if I go to the individual's source detail, it shows the information correctly.

Attached are three screen shots to illustrate the problem. (Sorry about the links, I couldn't figure out how to embed actual image files).

multiple files showing on Dropbox. Not sure where from

08 September 2017 - 03:30 PM

I just made some changes to my RM database and so saved a copy to using the "Save to Dropbox for apps" button.
Now, when I open my Android tablet, go to Files and then Dropbox I have four files listed
file (1).rmgc
file (2).rmgc
file (3).rmgc
When I look at my Dropbox folder structure online, I only see one database file (rmgc) within the database folder. There are four different ones within the Backups folder. However, none of them have been touched in quite some time.
Where are these other listings coming from, or are they ghosts of some sort on my tablet? I'd really like to clean it up if possible.

Church record sources preferences?

08 September 2017 - 01:39 PM

Just out of curiosity, when citing your church sources how many of you are using the 'Church (Author)' and 'Location' fields, as opposed to the 'Church with Location' field?

Why would you prefer the latter?

maintaining authentication with Dropbox

23 December 2016 - 01:09 PM

Please make it so that once I authenticate with Dropbox that I do not have to authenticate every single time I want to run a backup to Dropbox!!

I could have sworn this was the norm. But, several people on the Facebook group suggested it is not the case.

It should be. There a plenty of programs out there which authenticate security settings once, and then to revoke them, you either do so at the vendor's end (i.e.: Dropbox in this case) or through the program itself.

I shouldn't have to reauthenticate every single time I want to back up, and ESPECIALLY when I just authenticated within the same session of RM7. (I just ran a test where I authenticated to backup. Then after doing nothing else, I backed up to Dropbox once again, and it immediately asked me to authenticate again. That's nonsense).

To add insult to injury, since the Dropbox folder could be specified using the "on my computer" option, pointing it to the mapped folder for Dropbox, it really doesn't make it any more secure by constantly reauthenticating.

Bibliography Report

15 December 2016 - 04:56 PM

Maybe I'm missing it. But, I see no way to generate a standalone Bibliography Report within RM7. If it's truly not there, I'd request that it be added.
