In Topic: SQLite Error 1 - SqlDatabase: Cannot perform this operation on a closed database

15 December 2018 - 12:53 PM

I just started to have the same problem (15 Dec 2018). Initially got the the error: SQLite Error 1 - no such collation sequence RMNOCASE . I had to use Task Manager to get out of the program. Tried reloading RM program but no better. Now getting the: SQLite Error 1 - SqlDatabase: Cannot perform this operation on a closed database, and have to close prgm with Task Manager.. What should I do?

I have disconnected from Ancestry - Tools>File Options>Ancestry>Disconnect from Ancestry Tree - and the problem has disappeared - no more Name Index flickering and can now backup. Problem appears to be due to Ancestry, and perhaps other genealogy DB, connections.

Suggestion for repairing source template.

Concerning the "Interview, Privately held" source template. For the Format statement in the Bibliography text, the first letter of the first word should be capitalized. At present, the Format field entry such as: written notes and e-mail. is proceeded by the Record Date which ends in a period.

Example: McDonell, Margaret Jane. Ottawa. Telephone interview and e-mail by Michael G. Baird, 2017. written notes and e-mail. Privately held by ....

The same Format field is used in the Footnote and follows a semicolon and so does not need to be capitalized.

Found the problem. I had inadvertently removed the formatting code "Upper " from the "Person". I had [person] rather than [person:Upper] in the Birth fact sentence template.

In the Source Template: Drouin Collection – Ancestry. In the footnote template the embedded text:

Ontario, Canada, Catholic Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1747-1967, Gabriel Drouin, comp. Drouin Collection. Montreal, Quebec, Institut Genealogique Drouin

There is a double space between , and Gabriel. There should be only one space.
