Source Media missing

13 April 2015 - 01:05 PM

When I access a source from a fact entry the media shows up.  When I access a source from the Master Source list the media is missing, though all other info is there.

Citing multiple families

12 April 2015 - 07:18 PM

I have 3 families living close to each other and appearing on one page of the 1900 census.  How do I cite each family without entering 3 different sources?

Able to have multiple pages open

03 October 2014 - 10:19 PM

I find myself wasting considerable time having to close all the subpages for an individual when I want to add information from a source to another person.  Another time is when I want to check something in lists or the Media Gallery or the Resource List.  Being able to go to another person (i.e. a sibling's page) to enter a related fact would be awesome.  Also, being able to check the various lists without having to go back to the home page would be a great time saver.

Staying on track

03 October 2014 - 09:51 PM

This maybe an odd ball question but I keep running into it and hope someone(s) will have some tips.  The question is:  how do you stay on track?  For instance:  Today I started out reviewing my file on my mother-in-law.  I had considerable info in Family Tree Maker and while it generally imported into RootsMagic ok, the notes are all attached to her name and the resources are not always showing up attached to the facts.  So I started out reviewing her birth certificate and connecting the media.  But then I used it to update her father's occupation info.  Then I noticed a fact that for her father was in question and went looking for the census to where the family was in 1940.  While looking at the 1940 census for the family I see a non-family member living with them.  So I went looking for how that person was connected.  Then it is hours later and I still have not gotten back to my mother-in-law's page.  How can I stay with the goal I start with, without losing the other facts or questions I run into?  Yeah, I tried using the To-Do list but am not sure whether to put the question under a person's name, a year, a location, or what-ever.  I am just a bit disgusted and discouraged as I thought getting back to entering the info by hand (instead of just attaching whatever leaf Family Tree Maker showed) would make the entering of info more specific and easier to keep track of.  Instead, I am in a bigger mess.

Female Head of House

30 July 2014 - 10:44 PM

In entering census information I tried to use "Residence (family)". I found that you have to have a husband to use this "fact".  Since the person I was trying to add is a widow, I had to add each person separately.  I also will be wanting to use this for widowers, and divorced individuals.  Can you fix it so widow or divorced are choices?  Thank you.
