Hi Ray, I have the same phone with T-Mobile but I have not experienced slow performance. Once suggestion; try to reboot your phone to close other possible apps running. Samsung recommends rebooting smart phones at least once a week.

In my case I was able to crash the app in a very ugly way. See my Crash post.

Consider posting suggestions too. All gen 1 products have their growing pains. I hope the good guys from RM go to task to clean it up, speed it up and stabilize it.
