File Location Settings

18 January 2020 - 01:30 PM

It appears when I set a file location (Program Options > Folders) for my data or media, etc. I can only designate one location which is valid for the entire program, no matter how many RM7 data files I have open. Example: I have 2 data files, one for my family tree and one for my wife's. I would like to have the default file locations different depending on which RM data file I am using. Currently when I open either of the data files, the default folders are the same. Is there a way to have one set of default folders for my database and a separate one for my wife's?

I hope this makes sense.

I guess another way to ask is, it appears the Folder locations is at the program level and not at the Data file level.

Data Import From Legacy Family Tree

16 November 2019 - 01:26 PM

I just successfully imported all my data from Legacy Family Tree, which I am leaving, to my RM7. Find A Grave ID#s and Stories from Legacy did import correctly. I am noticing that for LDS ordinance data in RM, RM did not import temple names/short names from Legacy, just blank names. Is this a RM or Legacy bug?

The Road to RM8 - An Important Update

16 November 2019 - 09:55 AM

Bruce's update and video review of RM8 basics on November 13 was awesome and timely. Thank you!

Will there be the same kind of high level review for the FamilySearch and LDS ordinance features of RM8 or will we just have to wait for the full release?

TreeShare on 2 Computers?

15 November 2019 - 12:31 PM

I have two Windows desktop PCs, both running RM7. If I upload a tree from RM to Ancestry from one PC, is it possible to have the other PC also share the same data with Ancestry if I am using the same data file? If so, is there a trick when setting up the TreeShare on the second PC?

Find A Grave

How are RM users capturing and recording Find A Grave ID#s? Are you just adding the # as a Fact?
