In Topic: Import Legacy Stories Into RM7

So I'm still struggling with this. I have tried to import my Legacy database first as a GEDCOM 5.5 file and then again just a direct import of the Legacy database. neither will import my Legacy Stories or the Legacy Find-A-Grave ID#s. Is there a proven process to get either or both of these data points into RM?

I have never had to match 100's of names before and I have imported from Legacy many times.

Yes I did. That what is surprising. I'm getting the majority of names matched, but not all.

Jerry,

First, thank you for the lead about including children. I am embarrassed that the choice between"Ancestors" and "Ancestors With Children" is right on the main publishing page in front of my nose. I'll play around with the parents. I just think it would be a basic feature that when you create an ancestor narravtive that somewhere within the narrative it displays but the parents. But then again, now that I can include children in the report it is probably not a real issue.

Thanks again.

New Question & Follow Up Question:

Follow Up - When I inquired about the Narrative Book not listing children, Nettie said "If you want parents, you need to start with the oldest ancestor in order to get all the aunts and uncles included". I'm not sure how that works if I am creating a narrative starting with myself and working backwards. Is there now a way to have the narrative include children of all the direct line ancestors?

New Question - Am I missing a setting or something? My narrative book does not "tie together" ancestors. Hard to explain but here is an example: In the verbiage describing each of my grandparents on my father's side, there is no mention or "link" to my father. In other narrative books from other programs it would say for my father "son of John Smith" or at least the children of a marriage are listed. So when it comes to my 4th generation with 8 ancestors, just by looking at the narrative there is no way to know who is related to who between the 3rd and 4th generation.

I really hope my question makes sense.
