Hello, the latest version of RM appears to be working with the dates set on the actual location - at least it appears to be working in Belgium!

Thanks very much.

Best regards

Thank you very much for the good news.

If you need a volunteer for beta testing for this, I am more than happy to help out.

Thank you very much for the quick response.

Yes, they are using Automatch.

I will see if they can try that.

Due to the large size of the database, is it possible that this has a hand in the problem?  A smaller database might make it easier to handle?

Best regards

Hello Renee,

I noticed back then you had responded and I was very glad.

In connection with another post, I have been called as the Family History Consultant of our Ward.  I will be advising the members to use Roots Magic, mainly because of the ease of use and features.  (Also being able to help the members on a program is a distinct advantage.)  This has been agreed with the High Priest Group Leader.

If the members have to switch from Belgium formatting to English (I recommend the UK formats as the dates are similar) I am not going to get very far.

Can you please give me an idea if this is being actioned in a near update, or is it on the list of things to do when you have time?

This is so I can advise the members properly.  I do not ask for when it will be released, just that it is being actively investigated.

Thanks very much and best regards

In Topic: Automatic Sorting

21 August 2016 - 01:35 PM

Thank you so much for the replies.

Doing it on a family by family basis is problematic, as RM does not provide a family index.  The Family overview in the index is not the same, and searching by an individuals name is tedious, time consuming and very repetitive - repeating a particular family children on a number of times.  I will try the script out, though I have never used scripting on RM before!

It would be very nice to have an auto sort option in the options, when Importing.  If you choose to manually sort afterwards - then the system would respect it and not re-sort it.

Best regards
