Jurisdiction Change

11 September 2019 - 03:20 PM

My ancestor lived in Washington County MD, until Dec. 25 1789 when the section where he resided was split off to create Cumberland County.  I'm stumped as to how to use or create a fact type that will describe why there is no actual change in the location of my ancestor's residence.

Julian / Gregorian dates question

22 September 2018 - 11:17 AM

To date, I have found the method of entering dates for Quaker records before 1751 satisfactory.

For other pre 1751 records, Julian dates are not formatted the same way as those for Quaker records.  Quakers did not recognize Julian names for months, while non Quakers did.  In order to properly reflect Julian dates for non Quakers, I would like to place a (J) after the date and still use Day Month Year.  By changing the sort date, I can put the event in proper order.

Will this cause any problems?

Better ideas will be welcomed.
