Exporting Sources Templates via GEDCOM

06 May 2011 - 03:44 PM

A year ago I reported a problem where source citations that use RM source templates are not properly exported to a GEDCOM file (Original Post). This makes source citations unusable in third-party applications. Will RootsMagic at least confirm or deny there is a problem? I will stop waiting for a fix if it is not going to be fixed.

Missing Include-in-Scrapbook flag

18 April 2011 - 10:03 PM

Please provide an "Include in scrapbook" flag on the Media Properties dialog. This flag does not appear for non-image files, such as when the media item is a PDF file.

Such a flag is important when I export my genealogy data for use in other applications. I still want to control an item's inclusion in the scrapbook, even if it is not an image. When I export a GEDCOM file, a "scrapbook" flag (_SCBK) is still generated for non-image media items, but it is forced to YES, meaning it is always included.

Although it may not make sense for RootsMagic to display non-image files in its reports, RootsMagic can simply ignore that flag for such media items. The flag is still useful in other applications that can display non-image files in the scrapbook.

Phantom Sources

10 August 2010 - 10:49 AM

For some facts, RM indicates there are two sources, but only one is listed. For example in the Edit Person dialog, I highlight a death fact and it indicates 2 Death sources are available. When I open the Citation Manager, only one source is listed. When I export a GEDCOM file, there is a second source referenced, source "S0" (s-zero). There is no S0 in the source record section of the GEDCOM.

Does anyone know of a way to delete these phantom sources? They are not listed in the source list report.
