Family Atlas Analysis Tool

27 November 2017 - 11:47 AM

Family Atlas has become one of the most valuable analysis tools I use.

It has the ability to map locations of practically any event I need in order to evaluate the geographic proximity to other events and people.  Yet there is so much more this program could do with better base maps, historic county boundaries such as with AniMap, and custom fields for place marker tables.  It would also be great if one could easily move markers from one marker set to another.

For example, I have place markers of searched parishes and unsearched parishes where dragging markers to the searched set could be very useful.  Also, selecting multiple markers on the map and updating their marker sets or custom fields, mentioned earlier.

I know this is just whimsical thinking, as it does not appear RM is as passionate about this program as I am, but, I thought I would post anyway.

Selecting common ancestors?

27 December 2016 - 06:31 PM

Does anyone know how one might select as a group the common ancestors of two individuals in a database?

Direct line descendancy Report

23 December 2016 - 04:11 PM

When I run a Direct line Descendancy report it indents each generation until there is only one character space in each line, resulting in many pages of a single vertical line of text.  Is there a way to control this behavior?  It would be nice if it reset on each page or something.

It would also be nice if there were subheadings for multiple lines of descendancy.  As a long-time user I believe RM is the best for data entry and database stability, but the reports could be better for sharing data if there was more control of the output.
