In Topic: Using App to Edit

I understand the concept of entering data "when at grandma's"  but I find that Genealogical information is significantly more complex than a Tweet.

Names, dates, places, source citations, and notes etc would be a real challenge for many of us that do not live with our phone permanently attached to our thumbs :-)

I use the App to allow me to know the who and when information on my ancestors.

If there is a headstone or document with important info I snap a picture. If there is an oral history I can use my voice recorder.

When I get home I can sift through the collected information and enter it as appropriate on my computer using a regular keyboard.

In Topic: Can I download RM7 to one computer and install it in my laptop that has no in...

A suggestion.

I have a desktop & laptop and work on RM7 on both. Early on I had problems keeping the info on the two computers in sync. The solution turned out to be easy.

Using the program "Dropbox" which I use for running RM7 on my smartphone, I created a folder "Rootsmagic" under the App folder in Dropbox folder.

In each install of RM7 I set the "Folders" under "program Options" to have the RM data files placed in the

Dropbox\Apps\Rootsmagic folder.

This way when I make a change on the laptop and close RM7 then when I open RM7 on the desktop or visa-versa it is opening the database I just saved.
