I did not recently upload my gedcom but rather did it during my Family Origins usage days to the best of my recall. In any event it was uploaded some years ago.

Jim
Although this is the first I have heard about "kingsnkastles", the fact that you uploaded to Ancestry (aka ACDC) raised a cautonary reminder. Now, I can't even seem to find their FAQ pages. So I'll have to go by an "If I remember correctly" statement.

IIRC, when I first uploaded a GEDCOM in 2002, I don't recall any proprietary statements in any of ACDC's FAQs. Later, I seem to remember that ACDC inserted a propietary statement to the effect that all uploads become their property to do with as they wish.

Since you have just uploadeded recently, do you remember any such cautions before you pressed the "finish" button with one last chance to change your mind?

Regarding the "no sources" problem, the subject has been discussed somewhere in the RM boards. Some folks, primarily "newbies" will find something that looks like their family and take it as truth. :o
Congratulations for asking. :)
If your objective is to qualify all source citations in your database, I would mark all three sectors of the Quality dialog with the "don't know" radio buttons. (I would say that 95% of my citations aren't qualified at all. And I don't recall if there was a qualifier dialog in my original software before I switched to RM.)

Congratulations and welcome to RootsMagic forums.

Glenn

I had inquired as to the kingsnkastles sources. It was their reply that prompted me to ask the question on the Forum. I was asked "what did I mean by original sources..." etc. and they really evaded a direct answer. I replied in detail what I meant by original sources among other items and concluded with a question if kingsnkastles has a genealogical "pedigree" of sorts (e.g. do they consider themselves professionals). I have not received an answer as yet.

kingsnkastles is a well-known name-collector and re-seller of same. Name-collectors don't do sources ... or if they do, they will simply point you back to other trees they have "lifted" (possibly even your own!).

BUT, don't take my word ... ask the person who contacted you to provide sources, and see what happens.

In Topic: Importing Files Into Publisher

It would be advantageous - to me - to be able to import a file for incorporation in a book. I have composed a lengthy Preface that I wish to be common to the books I distribute to family members. It would be very convenient to access and incorporate it as a file.

I'm replying to my own message! :P I have solved my problem by opening a book, opening the "master" Preface, highlighting the text, hit Copy, Save changes, Open another Book, opening a Preface, and right click Paste and VIOLA!! it works.
