How do I change the default location for uploading photos? I currently have to go thru 6 steps to get my photos from my hard drive to RM4.

Thanks,

Mike

You do not put your photos in RootsMagic.
You only tell RootsMagic where they are.

In RootsMagic, go to the Tools menu, choose "Program Options" and "Folders" then set the "Multimedia Files" path to point to the location of your photos.

(I liked it better back a few versions, I could set the multimedia path but If I deviated from that path for one photo, the next time I looked for a photo, the default place was the folder where I got the last one. -- BUT, ALAS, now it always seems to revert to the folder I set in the Folders option.)

As I add more and more photos, scanned documents, etc. I'm wondering if it might be a good idea for have a default location within RM - that might make things easier to export and/or change computers. I recently had to get a new computer and many of the links to existing files broke. Just my 2 cents worth :)

Windows tries to tell us where to put things.
Do you want RootsMagic to tell us where too?
I like this way better, it lets us choose the location for out data.

I just don't like having BIG BROTHER dictating to me!

Truth be told ...if RootsMagic DID NOT allow the user to specify... there would be MANY MORE outcries (than for this)
