Will Family Atlas allow me to plot a travel map so that I can follow my ancestors' migrations? If not a function built-in to FA, is there a way to merge the information with another program that does?
thanks!

Import your genealogy database into FA, set up a Genealogical marker for your ancestors and check that marker on the list. To see it in motion, click on the Time slider button.

There is a tutorial at http://www.rootsmagi...tlas/Tutorials/

It doesn't have the Time slider on the Taskbar, but it is in the latest version of FA whcih I have.

Thanks, Laura. This will help, but I don't see how a time function will help plan a road trip. I viewed the tutorial and didn't see anything about roads and traveling the migration routes.

Sorry, I misunderstood your posting.

You could create a Genealogy marker set with the full place name and choose your ancestors and the events you want to show on the map.

For a more targeted map, you could create a Place marker set with just the places you want to visit with their latitude and longitude.

You could publish the map and draw lines from place to place and print the map.

You can export the map to Google Earth

Family Atlas lets you export your markers and map information to Google Earth.
Choose File > Export > Google Earth from the main menu. Type in the name you wish to call your Google Earth file, taking care that you are in the desired drive and folder where you want the file to be saved.

You can open Google Earth and Open your Google Earth FA file. You can select to view in Google maps.

You can download Google earth for free from:
