I had a large Ancestry tree that I've begun to really scrutinize and clean up. On Ancestry, I deleted a few key people for which I had no verification. Later I exported this file into Rootsmagic and noticed that all of the people that came before the key people I deleted are still there (bulking up my family tree). Is there a way to filter these people out using Rootsmagic 4? Thanks!

Yeah so? That prevents an answer here? Not everyone cares to subscribe to mailing lists.

And answered again here, as posted on the mail list:

The reason these people showed up in you database is you did not delete them
when you deleted "key" people. They are all still there, but in several
smaller "trees".

The optimum approach would have been to export the tree of interest (not
everyone) to a GEDCOM and import it back into a new database. (Many
software programs including RM can do the same operation using a "drag and
drop" into a new database.) Now your new database contains only the line of
interest. If more trimming is necessary, repeat the steps.

To UnDo what you have done, go back ot your backup's and redo everything
again with the changes noted.
