It would be nice to be able to list the names alphabetically, no matter what the maiden name may have been.

I don't understand what part of a name you want the list sorted by. Please explain a little more.

Today is not my day evidently. I missed the title of your post and didn't realize you were talking about the Address list on the Edit Address screen.

When you add an address for an Individual, type the name that you want printed on a label or in an address list on the Edit Address screen.

At Reports> Address Labels or Address List, choose As entered in address dialog from the Name format menu.

Choosing the As Entered in Address Dialog allows the user to print out women by their married names, but the list is still alphabetized by maiden name.

In the following example, Mary Brown's married name is Smith.

Address list printed Given Surname =

Joseph Allen
Mary Brown
Peter Carlson

Address list printed As Entered in Address Dialog =

Joseph Allen
Mary Smith
Peter Carlson

I think what Kay wants is a list with married surnames, in alphabetical order, like this =

Joseph Allen
Peter Carlson
Mary Smith

vlanders, You are right. I did check, but I guess I saw what I wanted to see.

Kay, I apologize for giving you the wrong information.

How about an option to sort it by record name, 'as entered in address dialog' name, or zip code.
