We would like to see RM improved to provide “what you see is what you get” in terms of photos. After some experimenting, we found that if you link to photos that have varying dpi quality, the ones with the higher dpi show up with lower quality on the screen than those with lower dpi. It is bad enough that we did not want to print the scrapbook with the high dpi photos after viewing them on screen. When we did print the scrapbook with the high dpi photos, we were pleasantly surprised to see the quality of the results. As a matter of fact, the higher dpi photos have a slightly higher quality than the lower ones when printed. We also notice a lesser degradation of quality on the screen when we print high dpi photos to a pdf but the resultant printed pages come out the same as printing directly from RM. In contrast, we tried inserting the same pictures into MSWord. That resulted in a true depiction on screen of what would be printed. If anyone is interested in seeing this phenomenon, we have the three pictures in progressive quality (300, 150, 72 dpi) we can share.

Having said all of that, we find RM to be a great program and we would recommend it to anyone. Looking forward to receiving Version 2.0!
