I am having a tough time getting my files converted fro Family Origins 8.0 to ver. 9.0.

I have my files on a CD in my F: drive. when I try to pull them up I get the screen that tells me that it is from an earlier version and will have to be converted and I answer yes to do the same. Then the following error codes pop up and then the program shuts down.

Error#: -200
Error#: 83805
File is not a data file
Database corruption detected

Error#: -970
Error#: 0
Data Structure Corrupt or Not Initialized
Invalid or Unknown Error Code

When I select OK the program shuts down.

What's up Gentlemen? sad.gif

Copy those files to a folder on your hard drive before you try to work with them in Family Origins.

FOW cannot write to the CD, the files are also write protected and will still be write protected after they are copied to the hard drive. Remove their read only attribute after copying them.

If it is a backup file, it is only read anyway, so you shouldn't have to change it's attribute.
