Hi everyone. I am adding individuals, both spouses and children to my program. I have numerous children that I have no information other than they are listed as "private" in ancestry. What is the best way to list them in Rootsmagic? I don't want to have a ton of people in the index list that just says "private".

Waiting for the new version of Rootsmagic to come out.

If you know the surname, then the best you can do is to assign a given name such as "unknown" or "living" or "child". Or delete them and simply add a note or custom fact to the parent(s) indicating that there are n children with the source being the Ancestry Tree from which you got the info.

Thanks Tom. I think I can work with that. I am now working with some cousins and a lot of children are listed as "private". If I can get the names fine, but if not I will take your lead.
