To date, I have found the method of entering dates for Quaker records before 1751 satisfactory.

For other pre 1751 records, Julian dates are not formatted the same way as those for Quaker records.  Quakers did not recognize Julian names for months, while non Quakers did.  In order to properly reflect Julian dates for non Quakers, I would like to place a (J) after the date and still use Day Month Year.  By changing the sort date, I can put the event in proper order.

Will this cause any problems?

Better ideas will be welcomed.

It won't be processed as a valid date so it cannot participate in age calculations.

Will this be acceptable instead and will it sort right?

Standard Birth Fact below:

Role: Principal

Sentence template: [person] was born on Julian Date < [Date]>< [PlaceDetails]>< [Place]>.

Changed for Julian Date:

Sentence template: [person] was born on (Julian Date) < [Date]>< [PlaceDetails]>< [Place]>.

I'd probably enabled the Description field and enter information on what type of date it was there. Otherwise you're going to have to customize every sentence template on an individual bases.

[person] was born on < [Date]>< [Desc]>< [PlaceDetails]>< [Place]>.
