I downloaded the new update today--version Now RM will not open the previous file, saying it is read only. That file is the only place where I have many new changes added--I'd hate to think that version is truly lost to e. Can anyone help? It is saying "Error: attempt to write a readonly database (8)"

1 - new version is RM, you probably mis-typed

2 - read only status will exist if the same database is opened twice - the first instance will have full access, the second instance will be read only

Sometimes a Windows update can cause files to get marked "read-only" and change permissions. Right click on the file in the File Explore and under properties uncheck the Read-only box. If the file is not marked read-only then check the folders in the path name and make sure those folders are not read-only.
