I have a master file of close to 30000 individuals, amassed from over 30 years of work.  I have lost interest in following distant cousins, husbands, wives and others who are not direct line ancestors.  In RM I have created groups which are my ancestors and my wife's ancestors.  I would like to make thee separate files so I can focus only on direct lines.  How do I (or can I) make new files which contain only this sub-group of individuals?  Any guidance would be appreciated.  You can respond to me directly at jajbkelly@gmail.com.  Thanks.

Create a group of the individuals you want in the new database. Color-code that group. Then use drag n drop to add everyone with that color to a new database.  The video links below demonstrates how each feature works.
