It would be awesome (especially in a native Mac version) to be able to create easily editable fan charts.  Here is one I made a while ago as my research "cheat sheet" fan chart.  I find fan charts the best way to see ancestry at a glance.

I made this one on a previous version of Reunion (it'd be easier still under the current one):

(sorry, I can't seem to figure out how to attach it here)

When I first looked, I saw, "Edible fan charts." Time for dinner.

Now THAT would be a feature!

That's good news, thanks.  Editable ones?

I too would love to see fan charts.

What is the priority of this request? I am not trying to nail anyone to the wall so about what time frame do you think this request may be addresses or put on the table to be started? Next year, 2020? Just trying to get an idea of the timeframe.

If I do one on my mothers side, i would need to go back more than 12 generations back. I actually have not went back as far as I can go. I am back to the 8th century and can go further. Just haven't gotten there.

This wish is still open since 2005. That should give some indication of priority.

Perhaps we might see fan charts in RM8? - hope so :-)  In the short term Gramps has fan chart options, there is a Mac version  and its free so a 'no risk' try out, there are a few nice charts I have used to illustrate some write up's.

FamilySearch has an affiliate offering free online fan charts among others to which you can upload a GEDCOM.

I don't care about making websites.

I don't want posters.

I don't even care about being able to put a picture on my family tree.

To me those are all just "play-pretty" frills that have no bearing on actual research; besides, there are many programs out there for those into the media production end of it.

I can already manually get an empty 9-gen fan chart "form" to print on a 8.5x11 piece of paper.

From http://treeseek.com I can get one online (with names) that I can save to my computer screen (one screen), but it's a process.

So I want RM to do this.  Not only that, I want one that does ancestors and descendants.  Plus one that does X-dna and M-dna (up and down-line).  Those are very helpful research items for people that are visual.

Charting Companion from Progeny Genealogy is third-party software to create fan charts and many other charts and reports from a RootsMagic database.
