About to start inputting the family data should I start from me or my ancestor who is the most distant time wise? Does RM7 care where you start?

RM has no reason to care which individual you start with.
Someone out there might point out (OK, I will) that the RIN (record number) will be assigned sequentially, in the order that you add people to the database. But when printing narrative reports and wall charts, I turn off the display of the RIN, since those numbers don't mean anything to my audience (family and friends). So I agree with RM, it doesn't matter who you input first, or in what order you build up your database.

Thanks for that. Makes perfect sense...
Purely from an inputting perspective would it be easier to input from the earliest ancestor or working backwards from my grandchildren? is there a more logical direction?

I would start with yourself and work backwards and forwards.

Preference of order? I don't think that I do. If I have a new child & parents group to add, I think I usually go father >mother > child. But if I'm adding a string of ancestors? I think it's a toss-up - working in Family View, which I prefer, doesn't really dictate a preference.
