During a lull in my research I worked with the process used to create a privatized pedigree web site.

I decided to privatize living people but noticed alot of ancestors without death dates were also privatized because they had no death date.

If they were alive today that would make them 200 - 300 years old!

Is there a way to batch update ancestor's records who are obviously dead so that they show up on a privatized GED or pedigree chart on a web site created by RootsMagic?

Have you tried Tools>Set Living functionality?

Yes. You can set a default life expectancy. When enabled, someone who was born X number of years before the present is presumed dead.

I generally use a belt and suspenders approach to living/dead. For people with no birth or death dates and people born within about 120 years of the present, I use both the "Living" flag and I have my own "Flags" fact type which I code with "L" or "D" to assure that it's correct.  The "Flags" fact type is something I did when I moved from Family Origins to Roots Magic. Family Origins had several user defined flags (check boxes).
