I find a slight inconvenience when using the Online Map button on either Places or Place Details. Using this opens out to Bing Maps in your browser sending the latitude and longtitude where available or the text string where geocoding is missing. Making the assumption that the sent co-ordinates will appear "map centre" when zooming in does not show that to be true.

Geocoded co-ordinates show correctly and accurately with push pin when using Rootsmagic Mapping.

There is a simple way this can be improved and that is by increasing the zoom level sent to Bing Maps especially in the case of Place Details where a level of around 17 rather than 12 would be more appropriate for a particular site.

Expanding slightly on that wish it would satisfy all if Rootsmagic allowed the preferred zoom level to be set in Program Options in the case of both Place and Place Details. I find the level of 12 acceptable for Places but the zoom level should obviously be greater in the case of a particular site like those recorded in Place Details.

If one accepts second best then quite often that's just what one will receive
