There are three "views" to look at in RM; Pedigree, Family, and Descendants.
When I click on Descendants I would like to see a box with the number of descendants displayed for that person.

By the same rule, would be nice to see number of children listed in box in pedigree view, with a mouse over to see the names, and to be able to click on them to access.

In Pedigree View you can right click the highlighted person to see that persons spouse/spouses and double click on any one of the spouses and/or children to go to that person.
When you right click on the highlighted person in pedigree view the drop-down menu allows you to Edit Person, Edit Family, View Family plus other choices. Is this what you want?

What I was thinking of is a the numerical number of people displayed in any given descendant list. A count of those displayed on the screen. This would require a programming change, so maybe we will see it in future editions of RM.
