I have  2 very large Data Bases, one for my family and one for my wife's.

As in everybody's databases I know they have run into a person that the line stops on and they will need to come back to them at a later time.

I have done this many times with success and without success.

As for now when I have looked for information to no avail I place a Smiley Face in front of the last name to have it stand out.

What I would like to do is change the background color so the names would stay inline where they belong, but still stand out for future reference.

If anybody knows if this can be done I would appreciate it very much. It would also be nice if you could print a list of the one's needing further research.

I tried changing the Text Color but it doesn't stand out very well. Another way that would work would be if the size of the text could be changed individually.

None of those options are available. They would all be enhancements.

How about this.

Create an empty group by selecting people by data fields and then not selecting anyone. When asked give it a name. Then for every person you want to flag add them via "Quick groups". You could then apply a colour to those people in the group but, in any case, you would be able to report on just the members of your group.

You can create a group or color-code your End of Line Ancestors.

Create a Group - New
check starting person
Click Mark Group
Select all ancestors of a person - direct ancestors only
Click Unmark Group
Clear people by data fields
Select "Number of sets of parents", "greater than" and enter 0
Click OK, OK, OK
Enter name for the group

Use the same filter for color-coding or just color-code that group.

The other thing you could do is create a custom fact and add that to people you want to research further. Then you can filter a group or color-code based on that fact.

Thank You for ALL of the input on this subject.

It sounds good except that I already have 2 Large Data Bases currently, and the way I do it right now keeps each Data Base and problems together.

Again Thank You very much for your input.
