All of a sudden, I'm receiving "Unfortunately, RootsMagic has stopped" messages every time I try to start the RootsMagic Android app. This happens on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S5, Android 6.0) and on my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1, Android 5.1.1). Any ideas on why this is happening?

Thanks,

Bob Molloy

Try restarting your device, not just the RM App. That often clears issues for me with apps.

I have the same problem also. However, I found that if I start it in portrait view it is OK. But if in the usual landscape position for my tablet I get that message every time. It might br worth your experimenting. I have Nexus 5 and 10.

I am getting the same thing. Samsung Galaxy S6 and Android 7.0. As for the suggestion above, I have restarted my phone several times since this problem started and it has not helped.

I too have had this problem for ages. On my tablet (a Galaxy Nexus 10)  it will only start in portrait position. Then change to landscape as and when preferable.

Make sure you have version 1.4 of the RM App installed.

I am having the same problem, on my Lenovo tab3 10 business. We have restarted, uninstalled it, reinstalled. Yes it is the latest 1.4. Who Haas found a way to get it operating?

It maybe the database it is trying to open. Run all the File>Database Tools on your database and then upload it to Dropbox for your device.
