I see that RM7 will import .ftmb files from FTM 2006 and earlier, but what would happen if I tried import from FTM 2104

I don't want to try it, if the file becomes corrupt.

Thanks

It simply won't work. We are currently working on the direct import for all the FTM files. It should be ready early spring so I recommend that you wait. The direct import will be much better than a GEDCOM because it will include that would get lost otherwise like your To-Do items.

WHICH WILL COME FIRST, SYNCING WITH W/ ANCESTOR OR IMPORTING  FROM FTM 2014.  HAD I KNOWN ABOUT THIS IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN BETTER TO WAIT.  THIS NEW RM IS OF NO USE TO ME AS THINGS NOW STAND.  CAVEAT EMPTOR.

John, FYI, RM did import directly from FTM 2014 or was it 2014.1 until the latter was released with a database change, possibly encryption, which now prevents direct importing. There is a workaround. You can export from FTM to a FTM 2012 database or to a GEDCOM file that can be imported by RM.
