Am trying to help friend who is new to RM. She lives a few hundred miles away so I can't look directly at her program (This will change soon as I will be able to do Remote Control of her PC)

When talking on the phone she says that family members show as "Husband & Wife" not "Father & Mother" as I see..

is this just some setting in RM?

We are both running RM 7.0.7.0

She created her RM file with an import from PAF if that makes a difference.

Open one of the spouse's Edit person screen.

Highlight the Spouse line. In the right pane, choose from the two drop down menus.

These choices determine the labels on the Family view and, also, the labels on the Family Group Sheet for that couple.

Hi:

First post as a new user.

Did what Laura suggested and it works for 1 couple.

How can I set it for all couples?

EG - Program wide setting not individual couples?

Thank you

I ran into the same thing. After looking and experimenting and kicking and screaming and pulling my three strands of hair out the only solution I found was to do them individually. Ugh!

If you dare to use SQLite to modify your database, the commands are pretty simple to carry out the conversion of Father to Husband or vice versa. There is a column for each of the husband and wife with one of three values that define the label, e.g.,
(0 = Mother, 1 = Wife, 2 = Partner)
