Hi guys, I was about to order the RM User Guide when I discovered that the International postage was going to cost $25US!! Holy Dooley! The book is $14.95 US so that makes it rather expensive with the Australian dollar at about .70 to the US $. That makes it about $52AUS.

Any chance of this book becoming an eBook with the option to download? I have a super fast broadband just begging to be used ;)

Check out Gould Genealogy, Australia for the book. AU$25.00

http://www.gould.com...agic-s/1292.htm

A pdf downloadable version of the book has been requested before.

There is also the Help file within RootsMagic. Each article can be printed. Or, save an article to a pdf writer printer like Cute PDF writer .

I am not sure of the future of the book, there have been many calls over the years for an eBook especially from non US users.

I am also not sure how much what Rootsmagic are calling MagicGuides are going to be developed but check out the link below.

Thx for your replies. I've been using the videos and help files but sometimes just the old fashioned printed user guide is handy, especially when we're travelling around the country. Didn't think of Gould's, thx for the suggestion.

Hi Wendy,

Did you ever find an eBook version of this book?

Thanks!

Robert

Robert, there is no eBook version of Getting the best out of Rootsmagic, it seems to make good sense but it has never come about.

I am UK and have only ever had a book once many years ago simply due to the excessive postage costs.

I used an online converter to convert the RootsMagic .chm file to a pdf file.

The RootsMagic help file is a chm extention file.

On Google, I searched for chm to pdf converter.

I clicked on the first link which was a free converter from Zamzar.

Zamzar will convert a chm file to various file formats including ebook formats.

I choose to convert to a pdf.

Zamzar sends you an email with the link to download the converted file.

Zamzar did a nice conversion to a pdf.  I didn't try any other formats.

There are other choices in the Google results, free online converters and paid programs.
