I'm unable to open RM6 TO GO on my friends Win 8.1 lap top.

The flash drives works on win 7 and even opened on my brothers lap top also using 8.1 ok

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

As has been mentioned in other topics on the forum:

Check the settings of the anti-virus and/or firewall on your friend's laptop.

Make sure that RM is given permission to run.

You also need to check that the computer USB port supports the USB Flash Drive. If you have a new USB Flash Drive running 3.0 and the computer has a USB port running 1.0 then it cannot recognize it. 3.0 Flash Drives are only backwards compatible to 2.0.

I have had trouble using RM to go on the computers at some Archives I visit  - and they are not likely to change settings so RM has permission to run, I get around this by using an alternative programme - Simple Family Tree, so far this has run on all the PC's I have tried, it accepts the gedcom output from RM - not perfect but it works for me!
