I have an ancestor that is listed in the database only once (and so his spouse). When clicking on him or his spouse in the timeline view - the same spouse is listed two times. I am trying to clean this up and not really sure how this was created in the first place. Any help would be appreciated.

If the spouse record number is the same then what you have is a duplicate link. In the Family View display the family group you wish to delete. Check their children make sure you have all the children on the family group you want to retain. Right click on the spouse and select Unlink>from Spouse. If they had children use Delete>Family>Unlink Family Members to delete that entire family group but keep the people in the database. Their links to other people will remain.
We have a video that demonstrates various linking issues and how to resolve them.
