I am interested in purchasing RootsMagic 7 and In regards to "To Go" function works. Is the "To Go" a full version of the software only portable? Will it work at a Family History Center when I use their computers? What are the limitations of the "To Go" feature?

RootsMagic on the flash drive is functionally identical to the main one and can run on any Windows PC that permits programs to be run off a USB stick.

Rootsmagic to go copies a fully functioning program to a portable device. It copies your databases to the device and helps you keep them synced. You have to copy your media to the device yourself.

You run RM from the device accessing the databases and media on the device just like you would from the computer hard drive.

It works only on a Window's computer.

You would need permission to plug the device into anyone else's computer except your own so check with the staff at the Family History Center.

RM To go leaves nothing behind on the host computer's hard drive.

There is a video on YouTube, RootsMagicTV that you will find useful to watch.

You can always use RootsMagic To-Go on any Windows computer, but LDS Family History Centers are entitled to a free copy of the full version of RootsMagic. Let them know that you would like to have it installed on their computers.  If it's a society have them contact us, we often give it free to them too.
