With 7 update 1 jan 27 2015 cannot backup or export files

now cannot close file

 

every update seems to have a lot of errors  Why ?

I haven't had all these problems with updates that have been reported lately.

I downloaded the new update and am not having any problem closing the program or doing a backup.

If the problem was caused by errors in the update RM then everyone would have problems.

The problem EDHUBS describes sounds like he's asking RM to access an invalid folder. Please be sure that you are NOT saving your database (*.rmgc) or backup (*.rmgb) files on the C: drive under Program Files or Program Data. Verify your settings under Tools - Program Options - Folders.

That is simply not true.  Not true at all.   Errors can result from any number of complex combinations of operating system, drivers, support files, hardware, file corruption and user interaction.

Laura's assertion has an extremely high likelihood (as is clearly demonstrated by recent ~immediate~ feedback from users when Bruce's update(s) broke things). Ludlow Bay's point is also applicable, but only on the rarest of occasions. This instance of reported circumstances does not sound like they'd be caused by the programmatic changes announced by Bruce.
