So, here's my thought:
(Posting this here per the request in the Wish List topic to post any FamilySearch Family Tree related wishlist requests in this forum.)
I've always avoided adding media files (photos, etc.) to RootsMagic because it seems so tentative. I keep local copies of high-res TIF and PNG files of photos of thousands of ancestors and relatives, but to go through and convert/resize/rename/resave/etc. is massively time-consuming and feels like an exercise in something less-than-permanent.
However, in recent months, FamilySearch has allowed us to add photos/stories/media/etc. to the (rather permanent seeming) profile pages that are associated with our ancestors. This is done from the standpoint that these records will be preserved forever - and available to all. Additionally, I can upload a large family photo, and isolate the face area for 15 or however many relatives appearing in it - and make their face-tagged area their individual profile photo.
What I'm wondering is - is there a way to mirror this in their RM profile/media area? Here's an example:
my great-grandfather was Antonino Cassara. https://familysearch...spouse=L8RR-8Y9
I created his information in RM, synced it to FamilySearch Family Tree, and then used their Media/Stories/Pictures functionality to add a photograph of him - which is stored on their site/in their records. This photo has since been cropped to appear as his profile picture on Family Tree. Oh, how I would *love* to have that mirror/feed directly into my RootsMagic account, and not have to repeat the process twice.
