I use Rootmagic 6 on the PC, as well as my Motorola Razr HD Maxx.  I just got an Amazon Fire HDX and Rootsmagic of course is not in the App store.  Amazon will not let you access the Google Play store.  Anyhow I was wondering if there is any consideration of getting Rootsmagic added to the Amazon app store.

I tried side loading the app but it does not work properly, and it seems that the HDX does not support dropbox.

I'm not familiar with the different types of Kindles. Here is a link to RootsMagic App FAQs - http://www.rootsmagic.com/App/FAQ/ The last one tells you how to install the RootsMagic App on your Kindle.

Read this article about sideloading apps to your Kindle Fire HDX. You sideload both the RootsMagic app and Dropbox:

Go to this Knowledge Base article and download the app from.the link in the article.

Download Dropbox for Android from:

The RootsMagic app and Dropbox works fine on my Kindle Fire HD 7" and my Kindle Fire HDX 7".

Thank you Laura this did work.  However there will be no auto update so that latest Rootsmagic APK will have to be available.

I have three kindle fires, a first gen, a second gen, and one of the 2015 $50 fires, which they call a 5th generation. I am glad to say that I now have the rootsmagic app on my 5th gen fire. It works a little differently than the instructions, but it did work. I had done it in 2014 for the 2nd gen. I see now on the Amazon App store they don't show the rootsmagic app as compatible with either of my devices, but used the download from this site. You still have to use the es file explorer program to locate the download. I am so glad to have RM on my tablet.

Cindyenfield, could you explain how you got this to work. I put RM and dropbox on my Kindle Fire but RM is not connecting to dropbox so I can select the file.
