I very much like the convenience afforded by the superior integration of RootsMagic with FamilySearch FamilyTree.

Is there a way to post a source from RootsMagic to FSFT without the information the Source Text field in curly brackets being posted?

thx  :)

There is no privacy feature in the FT API so all information in the source and other areas are transferred over even if you use the curly brackets or privatize the fact. You will have to remove the private information before transferring to Family Tree.

Isn't it the responsibility of the RootsMagic side of the API to suppress its private contents? After all, the API cannot be expected to know all the different privacy controls of all the different softwares that use the API. It is up to the API user to control what is sent to the API.

You are correct Tom. I was talking to development about the issue as you typed. It is something we can try and control. Confirming issue is noted in our tracking system.
