How do I open a v 4 database wtih v 3?

Long time getting back to my geneology.  I seem to have lost my RootsMagic 4 which is installed on my older laptop.  My new machine I somehow installed v 3 but I failed to put in any databases.


So now I have tried to open my v 4 databases with the older v 3 but they involve different file extensions.  rmg vs rmgb. so it won't work. 


Short of buying another copy of RootsMagic 4 (is it still available?) is there any way to open my newer version database with my older version program?

If you registered RootsMagic 4 with us online after installation we should have your registration key. You can go to http://www.rootsmagic.com/Recover-Key/ to request the key to be emailed to you.  It will go to the email address you registered it under. 


If you don't find a key or your email has changed you can call Sales at 800-766-8762 (Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm MT)

You can also open a support ticket at http://support.roots...us_requests/new

Make sure you give us all the details we may need to search by, name, address, phone number, email address.


The download for RootsMagic 4 is located here: http://www.rootsmagic.com/download/RootsMagic-4/


It will run in Essentials Mode until you get your key entered.

If you registered RootsMagic version 4, you can download the version 4 UPGRADE, if you have your registration code, enter it and you are back in business.


If you can't find the key you can request it from RootsMagic.

(I just now tried it and it worked just fine., but I knew where to find the key :) )


To request your key, click on the RootsMagic Help menu and Technical Support, You should see the request for key heading.
