I'm trying to get my data from my old (Family Origins 8) installation into my new (Roots Magic) program. I tried the GEDCOM method, but whatever I do, the program tells me the disk is full.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I figured out a work around: The program would let me built an internet database & offered to create a GEDCOM as part of that work. No errors that way.

RootsMagic will import Family Origins databases directly, without using a GEDCOM file.

Disk full? I don't remember all that well, but I seem to recall something about the older Family Origins programs not understanding the later, larger hard drives, something like 2 or 4 GB or larger was too much for them so they thought the disk was full.

( I can hardly remember any hard drives being that small  )

Go to YouTube, RootsMagicTV and watch the Moving Your PAF Data into RootsMagic video. The process is the same for a Family Origins database version 4 or later.

The following was overheard at a recent high society party...
"My ancestry goes all the way back to Alexander the Great," said one lady. She then turned to a second woman and asked, "How far does your family go back?"
"I don't know," was the reply. "All of our records were lost in the flood."
