I would love to be able to sync my RM program with my ancestry.com tree like I can do with FTM

That is not RootsMagic's choice to make. Ancestry.com would have to issue a API to allow other programs to sync to the Ancestry family trees. And, Ancestry hasn't done that. Ancestry wants to sell FTM so it isn't in their best interests to allow other companies to sync to the trees.

Ancestry recently hinted to us that they may open an API for us to work with. So please contact Ancestry and let them know you want the ability to sync your RootsMagic with Ancestry. If Ancestry opens up an API then we will definitely support it.

There are selections to contact them by phone, FB, Twitter, etc., etc.

Im sorry if this is considered off topic but in the contect of this thread what is an "API"?

Application Programming Interface. Use that as a search filter on a search engine like Google for links to more information.
