Wondering why?

Deleting media from one fact on the edit person screen deletes that same media from others facts that are also using it.

For example, I might have a death certificate image attached to the death fact as well as the burial fact for a person. Removing the image from the death fact also removes it from the burial fact.

Yeah, the duplicate media addition to different facts was accidental, resulting from my ignorance when I first began adding fact media to individuals a few years ago, before we were able to construct our own sentences.

Go to the Edit Person screen, then click the fact's Media checkmark, then use the [Delete tag] button. That will leave the media item tagged to other facts and individuals. If you click the [ X Remove media] button, then the media gets unlinked from everywhere.
